Three very badass guys there! maybe you could do an alternative one with the Maestro himself: John Williams, just an idea.

... If you can find a very high res picture (and beautiful) 1980' certified... Let's see.

Here's the last one I'll be posting there - wouldn't be fun if I posted all the visuals while they're getting done, leaving that way no further surprise !

May I present, the definitive cover of the "audiophile edition", no matter what...

 ... And its alternate counterpart...

To be honest I think you nailed it from day one with that SSD on black.

I knew I would be too late... either way, I can't help but comment on it - even if you've chosen a definitive cover - great stuff here, ABC!

But honestly, for the main cover, I think the very first picture you posted is (was?) the best. The plain black background keeps it clean, with the Executor "hovering" just above the title logo - very imposing. It's clean, dark, gray and colorless, almost sterile - exactly what the Empire represents. And since the Empire steals the show in TESB, maybe it's best fitting thematically...

Plus, I have to admit, it makes the Audophile Edition more like a CE/SE than a regular OST release. Every special/collector's edition soundtrack or game I have seem to use a clean, stylized cover with as few decorations as possible. IMHO, this is again the best fit.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Whatever you release, someone amongst my friends with knowledge about three-folding disk cases and laser printer is about to get very bothered... mwa-ha-ha-ha! >:D

To elaborate, I think that while most of your other proposals are fairly generic, - stuff you'd see on just any old ESB album ( :P ) - the first one is unique. It has its own identity and expression.

It can stand out. It's simple, clean and imposing. It says, "I'm special."

The fist idea is often the good one. Well, someone close to me says that's The One anyway, so I think we go with the Star Destroyer. Only I may stick on the classic typo as shown in the previous page (or the latest covers I posted).

Thanks for the argumentation ;)

I'll post a couple of updated images when my computer will be more stable.

The original cover with the same "blocky" logo, plus classic font for the text - priceless! :)

A one I still haven't finished due to computer crashes going on... Have to change the charaters to put better ones on the matte painting. Actually I don't think my machine will let me do it.

ABC,

What is the font name of the "classic font" you are using? I have looked around and can't seem to get a perfect match.

Thanks.

P.S. The set is terrific, by the way!

The samples of artwork for this project are incredibly beautiful and professional looking. I love it when I see a homemade or fan project that is at first glance indistinguishable from a commercially released item. Kudos!

Franklin Gothic book

Franklin Gothic heavy

Arial Black

+ you'll have to play with italic/bold options (real or "fake")

Are you correcting the spelling mistakes or changing the presentation (just curious) ?

Thanks.

Thanks, the final cover with the SD, though just a variation is even better ;)

I don't have anymore sofware currently on my computer to resize it and to show it there but if anyone will to post it at 25 or 33 % that would be great (... with the title on the edge ;))

Heh-heh. Actually, I just got a new Lightscribe CD burner and was trying to modify your CD labels so that the text was contained within the Lightscribe "writeable" area.

I went ahead and printed them anyway (even though part of JW's name ends up being truncated).

Oh yeah, I noticed JW's name and the ESB logo should have been a little higher... That's a bit too just.

All of these covers and art look wonderful.  I'm sold on the very first one of the SSD with no stars.  All of your work looks very sleek.  It reminds me how I felt when I opened the Anthology box almost twenty years ago.

I guess I don't understand what disc 3 is.  It's not the original LP or apparently the LP track edits...  I like closing the album with Yoda's theme.  It gives it a Superman / Can You Read My Mind vibe.

Terrific looking project.

Hi ABC

I was searching ESB logos on Google and I found details of your ESB soundtrack on the forum. Have you actually created a special CD set and what is the difference between that and what is currently available commercially (in terms of musical content and sound quality)?

Also, I have been extremely keen to see the Omnibus documentary about John Williams from 1980. I missed it (interesting story involving a whole bunch of irony and the most painful spoiler of my entire life). Is there a way I can get hold of it?

Thanks.

Shutting up, sir.
