What's with the proper spelling and punctuation in that picture? Weird. ;)

Haha. Batting average on balls in play. Had to look it up. :p
Kelly Johnson? Hmm...when Nelson Cruz hit the DL I was trying to decide between Johnson and Casey McGhee. I guess we will see who was right and who was you.
OH SNAP!
(Morgan is an interesting guy to let go, btw)
Meh, it's early.
If I wasn't overflowing with OF I'd probably pick him up myself. (Morgan, not Johnson)
I pretty much have my team the way I want it. Might make one more small tweak in a month or so, but I'm happy with it now. I actually fared pretty well while I was on vacation and away from a computer.
In a month? You must be pretty confident in your team's ability to stay healthy.
:-P
Edit: I see you made some moves today. But why cut Street? He's DL eligible and you've got plenty of room for him.
I decided to drop Derrek Lee in favor of Paul Konerko in my other league. He's doing so great for me in OT! Another 2 homers tonight. :) I hope he can keep it up.
Cano hit two for me tonight. I didn't expect him to be my best hitter so far...
No one expects the Robinson Cano!

If injuries pop up, I'll deal with them.
As far as Street goes, I'm not really digging that we're a month into the season and he's still on the DL. Plus, he's not someone I would have drafted anyway.
If I make any more big moves, I might let go of A-Rod. I know those are some pretty big shoes to fill and this is just fantasy league, but I just don't like the guy. It's the same reason I let go of Big Papi as soon as I could.
I'd be interested in A-Rod. What position[s] are you looking to fill?
A couple of thoughts...
Street: As I said, having a player in a DL spot costs you nothing, so there's no harm in keeping him there unless you run out of DL spots. And when (if) he's healthy he's a good pitcher that can get you saves. Right now you only have two closers, and you can have up to four in your RP spots (you'll notice that is why Ripplin is whipping us all in the saves category so far). But having said all that, if you still don't want Street, well, I wouldn't have made that move, but I can allow it.
A-Rod: This I won't allow. He's a top-5 pick in every league and just dropping him would have an adverse affect on the competitive balance of the league. In fact, if you look at the Can't Cut List that is maintained by Yahoo (not me), you are not allowed to cut him. I can understand you not liking the guy, but you shouldn't just drop him for nothing. It will have a bad effect on your team, but more importantly it will give another team in the league an unfair advantage - as if they were given two first round picks in the draft.
With all that said, you absolutely should trade him if you don't want him. But you need to get a fair price for him. I will not allow him to be traded for a so-so pitcher, for instance. Again, he's a top-5 player, and you need to get either another top-5 player or a couple really good players to make the trade fair for the league.
By the way, I'm also interested in trading for him. My 3B's have been pretty bad so far this year. Other teams in the league should be interested in him as well. What I would suggest is that you email the entire league (since not everyone reads this thread) and offer him up to the highest bidder.
Big Papi: I had no problem with that drop. I think he's done.
As a final note (to everyone) - if you are considering dropping anyone who is a halfway decent player, you should find out if other people want to trade for him first. You can definitely make your team better that way.

First off, I should point out that I'm not going to make a move hastily with A-Rod. I just said it was something I might do. As far as just cutting him, I didn't check the list because he's not someone I would cut. For me, it would have to be a trade for another strong 3B, which I haven't researched nearly enough yet.
As I said earlier, I'm pretty happy with the team as it is now.

That's another tweak I was discussing with a buddy of mine, but I'm not ready to start making big alterations like that yet. I'm holding my own in the standings, so I'm ok waiting for now.

Oh, ok. When you said "let him go" I thought you meant dropping him. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I'm always interested in talking trade but I can't offer you much at 3B unfortunately.

Any interest in Hoffman. Please please please?
;-)
See - that's how I felt about Street. I just sort of got antsy and made a gut move. To me, a month on the DL, particularly to start a season, is bordering on too long where pitching is concerned. With Hoffman, I'd probably wait at least one more series.
That said, he's in danger of losing the closer spot. What's going on with him this year? Didn't he give up a grand slam last week? That's weird. Man, there were some years in the past where he really put it on the Astros.
Again, just to play devil's advocate, I would have kept Street, and here's why. Once he's off the DL, did you know you don't have to activate him? You can keep him on the DL for another two months if you want to see if he is effective or not. The only catch is you can't make adds when you've got an active player in the DL spot until you either activate him (and drop someone else) or drop him.
This is why I picked up Erik Bedard after the draft, btw. I saw he was on the DL and I grabbed him and moved him over to DL. When he comes back, I'll give him a few starts before I decide if I will drop him or keep him and drop someone else.
You said you got antsy - the offer to put him back on your team is still on the table (I'd never do this in an experienced league but this is a beginner league). But I'll also stop harassing you about it.
I don't know what the hell is up with Hoffman. He was extremely effective last year, and he can't keep the ball in the park. Check this out:
2008: 45 IP, 8 HR
2009: 54 IP, 2 HR
2010: 9 IP, 6 HR
That's shocking!

I tried to take you up on your offer to add Street, but I'm getting an error message. I'll need your assistance. I wasn't aware of the the two month watch. That seems like more than enough time.
Thanks, man.
The Hoffman numbers are just plain weird. I can't even begin to speculate on what's going on with stats that lopsided.
Actually you can keep him on the DL the whole year! I'm going to send an email to the league clarifying this.
In the meantime, check your roster for Saturday. :-)
Thanks, man.
I finally got Lidge and Cliff Lee back. : )
Man, Warbler - your guys are hammering Santana. 8 runs with two outs. Brutal.
Hang on....and now it's 9 runs.
