Melkur

It's a time machine disguised as an alien turned into a statue.

I'm not aware if Tardises can hold political affiliations.

As for Tom I think he'd vote for anyone promoting fine wine, magic, dreams and anything that will give a stork on.

This feels like PROBATION!!!, but I'll give you a chance to explain as I am not up on my Doctor Who (or on the phrase "give a stork on").

In the episode The Keeper Of Traken the planet Traken is so peaceful it lures evil creatures too it like moths to a flame and they become trapped there and begin to calcify.

The statue above is assumed to be one of these "Melkur" and the Trakenites take pity on such creatures and visit them hoping they will turn away from evil and eventually stop being statues.

In reality this particular one was one of The Master's Tardises which he has disguised as a calcifying creature to take over the power source of the planet (the reason why everyone is so nice) to regenerate his dying body.

"Having a stork on" is a typical Tom phrase it equates to "having a stiffy".

While we are talking Who here is a statue of Aggedor :

Still not seeing anything statue-y in there.  Last chance....

If the stone humanoid figure doesn't count as a statue then I should have been put on probation the moment I suggested the topic.

The weeping angels are quantum locked creatures who only become stone if observed (nobody knows what they are like when they aren't seen).

So technically speaking they aren't statues either but then neither are your photoshoped Liberty Thinker or The Boost's Statue Of Sitherty.

At least the LOTR's statues were carved props therefore existing as immobile standing works of art.

Is this a statue, a mime or both?

I'm really confused now.  The picture was fine.

Is the statue in the first picture a Tardis? If so, you're fine.  If not, I still don't see the connection.

EDIT: Never mind.  I reread all your posts and I get it now.

Look upon my running shoe and dispare.

All that was left of the statue of Steve Ovett in Brighton after metal thieves in 2007 broke it up in a botched attempt to melt it down for scrap (to be honest it was a bit crap but the machetes were rather good) it's a well documented sculpture so a duplicate could be made but I were in charge I'd make further replacements out of plastic.

I met the real Steve many times as a kid, a really nice guy too and looked nothing like the statue.

It's more fun connecting the cats to some other topic.
