yes, I hated that movie with a passion. Costner was a miscast, and yes, he was speaking with a terribly fake English accent(so much so that in Robin Hood: Men In Tights, they made fun of it). I also didn't like the fact they added Morgan Freeman's character, just to be P.C. They also had to P.C. Maid Marion's character. I also couldn't stand the fact that they added that witch character. Alan Rickman gave a terrible performance as the sheriff of Nottingham. I found it terrible all the way around. I had to watch the 1938 version multiple times, just to recover.

Say what you like about Costner's flaky accent, but Rickman's performance in that film was spot-on - probably because he wasn't taking it too seriously.
