That logo looks great, very moody. I hope it can make it into the final cut. For some reason, seeing a logo makes the waiting different... almost like the anticipation when waiting for the theatrical premier. :)

I somehow became unsubscribed to this thread again despite not touching anything (third time now, I think?), so I just read the last few pages. NOT fun. (well, there were a few fun posts, but surrounded by various irritations)
The 30th anniversary clip should be interesting. No idea what to expect, which is great. :)
This doesn't seem like a thread you would need to subscribe to.
Fantasy baseball doesn't seem like something you should be good at.
Anyway... ESB! ESB! ESB!

It doesn't really need a solution. Vader says to bring his shuttle, then we see him on his flagship. Anyone with half a brain can figure out that he flew to Executor in his shuttle.
If this kind of stuff really needs to be explained to the audience, then maybe Adywan had better add Ric Olie into the film...
well, yea it is common sense, but the audience has to be treated like they're brain dead.
It's this mentality that's destroying Hollywood.

No worries, it takes a while to be as crazy as I am. XD lol...
Oh I'm already there haha, I have every SW Reference book, and I'm on Wookieepedia 10 times a day...got to get it all committed to memory haha
Not bad... it's when you don't have to go to Wookieepedia 10 times a day and you just know insanity that will scare even the hardest of the the hardcore SW fan. Case in point, fierfek translated in Huttese actually means "poison". =D
Relating that to ESB, I'm gonna get Republic Commando back from my friend and somehow snag the audio files. Cos the voice over done for "Boss" aka RC-1138 was Temura Morrison. I know Boba's voice is gonna change in ESB:R but if it's a mod of Temura's voice over then it's kinda cool to have more dialog reference material. Some phrases like "fierfek" or "let's rearrange some architecture" are just fun. XD
The impossible is what Rogues do best...
I like phrases like "let's rearrange some architecture" sometimes, (not always).
In Doctor Who when The Doctor does the Fonz thing of trying to get the Tardis to work by giving the console a thump he calls it "Percussive maintenance".
Ady, have you considered using the new 20th Century Fox Logo that was made for AVATAR, instead of the one your currently using?

It's a bit short & Sky_ did a rather nice one originally, but anyway...

Here and I thought Adywan was getting that Wampa pelt and Hoth soldier outfits to film those "lost" scenes of the troopers shooting at the creatures and trapping them in that room (for Threepio to rip the sticker off of when the Imperials invade Echo base as they flee).
Oops, did I delay the project another ten years?
Oh well... ;)

See, this is just the sort of thing that pisses me off when it comes to the prequels, and altogether too many other movies these days as well. Pandering to the lowest common denominator is never a good idea. It was that kind of idiocy that got us fart and poop jokes in TPM, as well as waaaaay too much exposition throughout the PT.
Bottom line: if someone is too bloody stupid to figure out that Vader must have taken a shuttle to his flagship after requesting that his shuttle be brought to him on Cloud City, then perhaps that individual should try watching Barnie tapes instead of plot-driven, feature-length movies. Intentionally treating your audience as though they're braindead (which you seem to support as a "clearer" movie-making technique) will only ensure that your movie sucks, and everybody hates it.

But we all love Ric Olié, right? ;) He's the exception. Haha.
P.S. I just saw your avatar guy last night. He was killed by a girl! :o

I said Ric Olié. Different guy.
What's a Gormally, anyway? :p I feel so out of the loop.

Ah, I see. I thought adywan was putting an ESB-themed version of sky's original moving 'adywan' intro. on the actual edit, and perhaps using a mainly-'static' version of vaderios's mock-up on the 'extras' disc. Sorry for any confusion thorr.
No problem. :-) It's cool that a few people already thought of the same idea. I am sure Adywan will do what he thinks is best (which may end up being nothing in this case). I think it is a cool idea because it is an attention grabber right away before the movie starts to let the audience know that it is something special. It is probably the only place to have a little not-so-serious fun with the editing so it doesn't ruin the real work for the rest of the movie. It is also the right movie to do it with since it has the Cloud City theme. Maybe in RotJ he can have dualing red and green light sabers coming out of the moving lights, lol.

So true which is why I would really love to see Leia line "Star Destroyer" removed.
In a film that is so visually intelligent (even after Lucas fiddled with it) having Leia do the Princess Obvious thing sticks out like a sore thumb in a way it never would in the PT.
Regarding the Fox logo. It would be neat to see the original theatrical logo, that melts into the adywan fox logo. You could have the 20th century fox fanfare sludge down into the imperial march.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Either way. It'll be star warsy.

Who cares about the logo! I just want to see the movie.
The logo is essential to "set you up" for the movie. For me, every Star Wars movie is special from the moment it starts... actually, before it starts. The logos really pull you in and heighten the anticipation.
That's why I really like the Cloud City background. Not only does the logo look like the classic Fox one, and it gives credit to Ady for his hard work, but it's also thematically fitting with the movie. Just seeing it in the first second makes my brain go "oh, I'm about to watch TESB, yeah!"...
Intro to bonus disc that is 100% Ady's work? Yes.
Intro to movie paid for by Fox? No.

I'm with 005 on this one. The idea's very cool as an intro to a bonus disc, but for me, that classic 20th Century Fox fanfare and logo, followed by the Lucasfilm logo, is the start of Star Wars. Tinkering with it, therefore, seems like a bad idea to me.
I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that, to this day, whenever I'm watching a movie from 20th Century Fox and that logo and music start up, for a fraction of a second I get excited because my brain thinks it's about to see Star Wars (see... Pavlov was right!). Why mess with something that ingrained our our collective heads?
