I'm largely against the dream sequence as it stands in the theatrical cut because it goes against what we see in the OT which should always be the Star Wars template.

The nearest thing we get to it is the cave sequence in ESB and that is symbolic and requires some interpretation.

"Difficult to see, the future"

It shouldn't be like the people in Spaceballs fast-forwarding the tape.

At least there is ambiguity but it would be better to have it more dream-like.

Adding flames and lightning might also give ambiguous flashes of what is to come.
