It does cost a fortune, but its sofuckinworth it! Of course, with a little creativity you can come up with much better dates than a movie that she'll appreciate a lot more and will cost you about the same... unless she is some sort of deadbeat.

Anyway, no guy ever needs to wish for such things, he just has to get his feet wet and go find it.
