A scene where Obi-Wan turns up with Luke and explains what happened to Anakin and where Owen puts the blame for Anakin's fall on the Jedi really should have been on screen.
The scene we have doesn't chime with what we know at all.Bleah... backwards. SW was correct, the other films didn't chime with IT.
That isn't a scene that's a entirely different set of films (not that I disassociate myself with that sentiment). In an ideal world Anakin would have been a young man who followed Obi-Wan on a damn fool idealistic crusade with tragic results but with the PT storyline we do have there is very little to base the attitude we see from Owen in ANH with the cheery sepia family snap shot we have at the end of ROTS.
I would have been in favor of retroactive surprises with the PT and perhaps finding that the Jedi and Obi-Wan was painting an incomplete picture of the past (which would have gone some way to explain the massive re-jigging in the story between ANH and ROTJ) but with so many years to sit back and plan those films the story is much more thrown together than anything we got in the OT.
George should have written all three films at the same time and worked all these things out before filming TPM.
We know he didn't have a plan for the OT but he had plenty of opportunity to do so with the PT.
