The reviewer did have a point that it suited Anakin more to do something rash, like jump out the window to catch the droid. One point amongst many, actually.

I felt really bad after watching the reviews. Honestly, there were some faults of the prequels I hadn't noticed and other I refused to. I didn't like them much to begin with, even though I fall into the demographic they seem to be aimed at (I watched TPM on my 11th birthday as a gift, 16 when ROTS rolled out), but I'm on the verge of hating them now.

there's  a flick called "The Last Broadcast" that's a horror mockumentary that predated Blair Witch, and it has a creepy narrator with a horrible voice that this dude reminds me of.

Now I come to think of it, his voice reminds me a little of Belker from Hill Street Blues

I liked the AOTC review.  It was side-splittingly funny in parts, but went on too long.  I hope the next one is a little shorter.

ROTS is just as screwed up as the rest of them so I imagine his review will be just as long.

I do hope he does one for ROTJ after that because it too is flucked up in so many places.

I don't think the length is necessarily proportional to the degree to which each film is "screwed up":  he could have covered all his points in far less time than 90 minutes, as he did with the 70 minute TPM review.  I hope for something closer to 70 minutes next time.

The sidebars seem to run a little long in places.  I don't mind them for the most part... but I thought they were a little overindulgent in the AotC review.

I've only watched half of the review so far but I really like the bits where the two women are making fun of him.  The bits with the tied up woman...not so much.

All in all, it's another winner so far.

This is getting as incestuous as the Skywalker family tree.

I love the reviews, I think they're hilarious and yet very informative. This guy obviously knows a lot about making movies and successful storytelling methods because he doesn't just repeat what plain bashers have said for years. For example, he doesn't criticize Jar Jar other than calling him a cartoon rabbit and someone who should not have left the ship on Tatooine.

One of my friends in our college's anime club also watched the reviews and we couldn't stop saying "What's wrong with your face?" the whole night at our last screening. (impersonating the voice of course) Best of all, we even did our own Mystery Science Theater for a couple of shows and in the Saint Seiya episode, one of the characters wore a mask. So you can probably guess what the most common riff was.

I do think the Clones review could have been a little better because while there are probably too many things wrong with it to cover in 10 hours, I think he would have been better not to spend one 10 minute segment on just one point. Like how Samuel L Jackson was miscast and overuse of lightsabers could have combined with other parts and he could have focused more on how confusing the whole thing is.

I think ConfusedMatthew hit some points about no explanation given for the Separatists wanting to leave and why it was the job of the Jedi to stop that. Sure, I know "Palpatine's behind it all," but what do the separatists like Nute Gunray think their honest reasons for leaving are? How would they justify their actions?

And I actually thought the part of Anakin saying he wouldn't mind a dictatorship was an interesting part that could have had more potential storyline and intrigue. It sounds bad the way he says it but I think there are a lot of people in real life who wouldn't mind tyranny as long as the dictator was a "caring" guy who only forced people to do things that were "good for everyone." It wouldn't be such a bad thing if a leader forced the "right" morals on everybody else, we just need a good "planner."

So that was one of the points where I thought the prequels had a chance to make stronger themes and less superficial and cliche plot than even the original trilogy.

Still awesome reviews however. I even paraphrased one of his lines for a course evaluation in a class I thought was lousy.

I posted a mock up poster that I made to promote the original versions based on the "what's wrong with your face?" line.

I'm interested in what others think. If it's lousy, by all means say so. Because i really want to know what others think about promoting the OOT.

Mr. Plinkett said he was going to do a new review. Here is an update, let's hope it is ROTS, but I wouldn't mind IndyIV.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas
