Until they announce the OOT will be remastered and in the BluRay set, this isn't news to me.

Surprised they didn't wait until the SW Celebration in August to announce this.

I am not getting my hopes up. Not this time...

Where were you in '77?

Nobody in here should even blink at this news. Why would Lucas give us the OOT on Blu Ray? This set will probably be more bastardized versions with his latest platter of digital shit added in.

Eh, nothing new here.

We already new they were working on this, and it was assumed there would be new outtakes and documentaries. There's no real specs and no date. This isn't a big deal, really.

If they use the current transfers, it will give a whole new meaning to the term "Blu"-Ray. ;-)

Actually, I have to take back my statement, it could be worse news meaning more changes to the OT by Lucas.

-Digital Yoda in ESB and ROTJ

-Hayden Christenson talking to Luke on DSII after Luke removes his mask

-Obiwan has changed dialogue in ANH, "Your father never wanted you to have this lightsaber, as I just picked it up after I chopped off his legs on Mustafar!"

-Luke and Leia new dialogue in ROTJ, "Leia, do you remember your mom, your real mom?"  Leia, "Dude, where you been, she died in childbirth, you were right next to me!"

Ol Georgie can really stir things up with more stupid changes......

Yeah. Steve Sansweet blurted that out. That they had been working on a six-movie set on DVD and BluRay "for years" ...

But everyone who is a fan has expected that for years now already ...

He said the same thing at Jedi-Con in Germany two weeks ago.

Still no details about the movies.

Well, here's hoping that Lucasfilm is finally able to rise to the high standards of the blu-ray of Role Models and include both versions of the movie in equal quality.

Chances of that happening- 1:20 million

However, chances of releasing 04 version/GOUT on Blu-ray- 1:100

 AGREED.

Anyone who is expecting the original trilogy without any 1997/2004  CGI additions should bend over and and get ready to be fu**ed in the ass by Luca$ and co.

I can just imagine all that new stuff they are finding comes straight from the prequel trilogy. I will stick with Adywan's avchd of Star Wars , Empire and the future release of Jedi.

BUT i hope im wrong ,very very wrong.

this is realstupid, liek im supposed to get exited over this.

its probaly gonna have the dnr crap and all the special editon trash

if they have the ot is gonna look like the gout or worse

i wont be gettin this, thats for dam sure

Author

Me neither, especially when you have to buy the prequels again. The only reason I would buy this if it included the remastered OOT, which I know Fox/Lucasfilm wont do.

Author

Even if they are not the originals, won't you guys buy them if they do contain deleted scenes, dailies or other old stuff that they dig up? I think I would, maybe. I just hope they sell them separate from the PT.

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

They wont-theyll be pushing it as a saga boxset, Im sure of it. The boxset will not contain the OOT, even of they show all these deleted scenes and other stuff

Author

If the bonus features sound interesting enough, I'll probably Netflix the OT discs.  But I won't be buying anything unless it contains a nicely restored OOT.

There is very very little chance that the theatrical cuts will be included with this release. But if they are, I'm sure they would the crappy laser disc ports we already have on DVD.
