As of 2010.04.12 there are 892 submissions, with another 20-30 pending. They are going through the film circuit at the moment, and the website redesign let's hope can be interfaced with Boxee and other tv set internet streaming devices. (vimeo does work with Boxee) There hasn't been much talk from them about a DVD release, it would be highly optimistic if it happened this year. (if LFL permits SWU to go to DVD, then the fan film making community might see this as an opening) To answer your question, oh course there's a possibility. Do the downloading yourself, it will also show the stat collectors the appeal of the entire project, let your clicks do the talking.
Some favs. the Script Take of Scene 399c, and the digital wankery take of Scene 146b
There's a slew of takes which are not goal objective, and they're quite surprising and entertaining. So there's reason to watch them all, to at least see where people's minds went recreating 'this thing.'
