It's still processing, so maybe if you give it a few minutes you will see improvement in picture quality.
Let me stress that this is a workprint of my latest draft. This is currently my favorite, but there are still some technical goofs here and there, and some areas I would like to tighten up as well... Feel free to comment on anything you see with that in mind.
The opening crawl is ok. Needs some work, but hopefully you get a good idea for what I was trying accomplish. Also, like I've said before, there was a lot here that was inspired during conversations with TMBTM. So, he deserves credit as well.
Off to work on part 2...

The new crawl is interesting, and having it go right from the establishing shot to the sand crawler is...interesting. Haha. Way too early to say a lot more thna that, I'm afraid. But it's a good start.

I don't know the prequels enough to really notice some details. I know there was something with Obi-Wan and Maul and Qui-Gonn, but...yeah, not jarring. ;)

I did.
I thought it odd to shift the most memorable, culturally important and thematically vital scene in the whole saga out of that part of the story and replace it with a fan boy favorite which makes even less sense outside of it's original context but it is part one and it may make more sense when seen with the rest of this version.
It's certainly a bold move.
It prompted my recent comments on the radical redux thread.

Yea it jumped to much for me, I mean how did 3P0 and R2 get into the Crawler? and is the spacing supposed to be that far apart in the crawl between some of the words? it seemed pretty well done so far, but not sure I would enjoy a full movie like that, not if it jumps that much.
To be fair, I really don't think I fully understand what you are trying to do here, I showed the clip to my 9 year old and he to could not figure out what was going on LOL.

Well, you also haven't seen the rest. I feel like everything is explained. I hope so anyway. I was simply trying to make some things fresh for those who know Star Wars so well. Still working on part 2 and hopefully then some things will be clearer.

Thanks for the link. I still feel like I need to see more to fully understand the intentions. Heh. I know what you were basically going for ('there isn't much to tell.' Yes, there is, and here's how we came to be in your service, if you take my meaning.), though it seems a bit long. I do notice some questions from the first clip are already being answered, though. :)

Well, the reason I went all Christopher Nolan on ANH is because it takes a good while until we get to the first PT flashback. I didn't want my audience to zone out of the movie because they've seen it all a thousand times. So, the swapping around was a way to MAYBE keep it fresh feeling.
