It's OK to ask for (purely voluntary) donations.
2. No profiting from any activities related to fan edits or preservation efforts

I find this confusing, but can live with the irreconcilable differences.

The wording of the rules is not important - it's the intent behind them that matters. I believe it is acceptable for adywan to ask for donations to cover the cost of model making equipment, but not acceptable for ocpmovie to ask for donations "to help with living costs" in return for DVDs.

This is now taken care of

So now i've gotta ask what's the difference between that (not the DVD one, the video page) and youtube videos?

The difference is that youtube is mostly used for uploading short samples or trailers, whereas you had the whole feature available for streaming.

The intent behind the "no links" rule is to avoid being sent a DMCA notice. To be honest I wasn't particularly bothered by your links, yes it is material subject to copyright, but it's not as high profile a target as something like, for example, an ADigitalMan fan edit of a Harry Potter film.
