np, sorry I didn't reply sooner. Didn't check this area of the boards in a while. =]
So in looking further into atmospheric coloration, it looks like the reason why the atmosphere of Geonosians should be more orange/yellow depends on how much iron oxide particulate that is in the air at any given time (at least that's what the explanation is for Mars). Since the premise is that Geonosis contains a high amount of raw material mainly iron type metals (to build battle droids) stemming from the assumption that this is why they have the droid foundries are on this particular planet/homeworld. Therefore, the sky being blue is a matter of chemical interaction with in the atmosphere.
Because of it's lower gravity, Mars is not large enough (slightly smaller than Earth) to sustain it's own atmosphere as we know it (which would make it bluer) and so iron oxide particulate is easily kicked up making it orange/yellowish/reddish... If Geonosis was large enough to maintain a gravitational pull to sustain an atmosphere that is similar to Earth then it would be blue overall. This would also depend on what type of sun Geonosis orbits as well...
Anyway... whatever looks more Star Warsy would be my recommendation. =D
