Maybe in some divergent universe we are all on a Lucas Can Do No Wrong site bemoaning how no other film series has been as respectfully served by it's creator.

We might be marveling at how he not only preserved the original versions on reasonably priced and well made DVD sets but also gave us really smart special editions as extras which actually worked as alternate takes of our beloved films and how the prequels fitted the originals like a glove and shone new light into ideas seen the saga as a whole.

Ady wouldn't be doing Star Wars Revisited though, why would he need to?

Perhaps he would be restoring or enhancing something else using Lucas as inspiration or maybe he'd be doing something completely different.

Looks like from the product details, they are just in english 2.0, no sub titles or anything else. I wish I actually had the unaltered GOUT dvd's to be for sure.

Just to confirm that the UK bought 'bonus disc' GOUT version states the audio is 'english 2.0 dolby surround' (only), and has subtitles in English, Svenska, Norsk, Suomi, Dansk (only).

ANH had French 2.0 and Spanish 2.0...

I was trying to use them to help rebuild a "stereo 1.0" track, and failed.

The laserdiscs only had English if I recall correctly, they had a shitload of subtitles for foreign languages though.

I hope you're not planning on including several DD5.1 tracks on the ESB:R because they take up over 300MB per track, which means less space for the actual movie.

Personally I think the best option would simply be to add subtitles, watching these films dubbed does them no justice.

The VHS exist in french. Though, I prefered to have the English unsubtitled. Is it the best sourced version about the picture quality in VHS...? (sorry for my lack of knowledge). I believe they are.

I think Adywan is talking original theatrical editions. Still not sure why, as I was under the impression he bases the audio on the 97 SE...

This shouldn't be for complete alternate audio tracks, as he would have to replicate every new cue and sound effect on every track. It would take up a great deal of space on the disc.

Adult-oriented movies, yes. Children's movies for kids who can't read yet? I think dubbing should be an option.

It is unfortunately an option, I personally grew up watching the Star Wars movies in French (I wanted the VHS in English so badly), until I could get the DVDs.
