I'm glad you didn't let me play, I didn't understand one word of that.  Not even the "the"s

Just a quick note, waivers were run this morning and all undrafted players are now Free Agents that can be picked up immediately (in exchange for dropping another player, of course).

Well, speaking for myself, I am currently happy with who I drafted.

I certainly didn't draft someone who is out for the year...or without a team.

I'm a fantasy baseball newbie, so this is a lot to get a grip on, but I'm not terribly upset by my auto-drafted team.  A couple of guys are players I would have considered picking.  Only one isn't.  Gotta hit the rules page some more.

Check the free agent list to see if there is someone you like better, and let me know if you have any questions.

There are a few guys I wouldn't mind trading for, but I'll stay for now.  May work out after all.

Just keep in mind - if there's someone you've got your eye on, another team might beat you to him first!

It's almost game time!

The season starts this Sunday night with the Yankees/Red Sox tilt.  Most everyone else starts on Monday.  Make sure you start checking your rosters and keeping your best (and healthy) players in your starting lineup.  Remember, stats for players in a BN spot do not count.

Starting pitchers will have a "^" next to their opponent on the day they are scheduled to start.  You can usually see who is starting at least 3 or 4 days ahead, but it's a good idea to check that day and make sure nothing has changed.

Teams have started putting players on the DL, and I know at least a few of you have players on your active roster that are DL-eligible.  Make sure you move those guys to your DL spots and replace them with healthy free agents.

As usual, any questions are more than welcome.  Good luck!

bear with my ignorance - how do we know/check if a player is on the DL?

Actually, I thought I was being nice by pointing it out :-)

I would have used Bart's page if he had anyone DL'd.

thanks, I figured it would show up like that but just wanted to be sure.

Bart, don't apologize for asking questions.  The more you know, the more competitive you'll be, and the more fun you'll have.

At any rate, if your player is on the DL, there will be a red DL tag next to his name.  For instance...

damn!  *fires scout that advised picking Lidge*    Oh well I put Lidge and Lance Beckman on the DL  and brought up Ion Stewart to play the Util position.    I added a free agent RP.

thanks for the warning, btw.

No problem.  Just remember that since you DL'd two players, you can pick up two players...

Aww, what a mean example. ;)

Maybe I should have pointed out this example?

Hmm...there's no loss if you put him on one of your DL spots.  That way you hold on to him but you can still pick up a free agent.  There's really no reason not to do it.
