Your confidence is kind of worrisome. How does anyone learn how to "disarm anybody"? No matter how good you are at anything, there is always someone out there who is better at it. Your robber could very well be bragging about having learned how not to be disarmed by anybody to some of his friends at this very moment. Besides, if he has a gun and you're standing a few feet away from him, there is no disarming him, period.
Yes that is true. I will do as told, but I will be looking for a break in there defenses. If it comes down to hurting people, I will take a bullet if I have to just to make sure nobody else gets hurt. It's kind of similar to, If your plane is hijacked, would you risk you life to save the people on the plane.
I know my alarm is good because I opened the backdoor without turning it off and everybody woke up pissed.
Yeah, but that was a non-forced entry via a regular obvious entrance. Any alarm will handle that. If your livlihood involves breaking into places you are not suppose to be, you learn how to handle things like alarms. Most small time crooks who don't want to risk it will avoid places with security systems, but there are ways around them. For example, are all your windows hooked up to alarms? If not, then you have a good number of safely breachable points right there.
My security system, has window and door sensors. There is no getting into my house without making noise. My security system has an alternate power source, for the possibility that they cut the power. I opened my window the other day, to let the breeze come through, and it went off. If somebody is to successfully break in, I will not be home. I have some material things in my house, but they are just things. All of my doors are steel, with steel frames. I don't have any access points in the house that aren't alarmed. Not even a chimney.
On the good side of things, most of the robbery reports around here where "small time" criminals. The kind that drive away fast if they see an ADT, or Brinks sign. The biggest part of them were drug related. My neighbors were robbed, because they didn't have a security system. This is a small town in Tennessee we are talking about, not a city full of professional burglars.
