Thanks for the info Moth3r.
Basically the situation is this: A mate of mine has graciously offerd the loan of a (bloody heavy) JVC-pro S-VHS deck to allow me to do some tape transfers. The deck itself is labelled Y/R-Y/B-Y on it's outputs, which according to wikipedia and almost every other site seems to be different from the home component system of Y/PB/Pr. They mention different scaling factors involved or something like that.
My current cheap capture card doesn't have component inputs so I was thinking of upgrading to the sweetspot and thought it best to find out if it will work with the JVC before I pay the money. I emailed pluggedinTV guys, but so far haven't had any response so far. Bummer :(
I've had a good look around the net already and can't find anything much on this, so I guess the only way to find out for sure is to buy the sweetspot and hope for the best. That is unless someone could recommend a mid price capture card that they know will capture Y/B-Y/R-Y please?
The only other alternative is to just capture S-video from the JVC. The only problem there is that JVC-pro decks use some weird proprietry S-video plug/lead which is very hard to find and quite expensive. I would prefer to capture component if possible though because the s-video output will just be a recombination of the component signals.
Any ideas please guys?
Cheers.
