this is reeeeeally good, I mean compare to the original. Some very good ideas are putted here, Han's akward kiss back to leia removal, R2 & 3PO comment, the fleet going away in space (with more shots of Akbar, we all love that lobster man :) ), I know it repeating ESB but I just love that Falcon/Luke's x-wing flying apart shot and the hyperspace closing.
I like "the adventure continues" spirit of it, it fits well with the serial aspect of the saga. Overall it's simply "more Star Wars" great job!

I can think of some improvements though:
-keep the SE celebration around the galaxy shots, as it links the two trilogy
-shorten the Ewok celebration or enhance it with dialogs and chattering
-get Sebastian Shaw back of course
-Akbar's dialog is not great IMHO, change it  to something else, like dialog with the heroes for example
-get rid of Han's "Yaooooh" at the end, it doesn't work with his previous state of mind, and it's silly
-beware of the "neverending ending" effect (à la Lord Of the Ring), try to make it not too long ;)

anyway great ideas here SSWR1…

Thanks for the feedback guys! I would agree with all of your improvement ideas...except maybe adding back the SE celebration around the galaxy shots. I don't hate the shots really...and I agree that it helps link the saga together visually...I don't know...it all happens so quickly...although that could probably be smoothed out with some editting.  Thanks! :)

Personally, I can't say I care for the SE celebration stuff... it just came across as completely ill-fitting visually to the rest of the OT and storywise it was "too soon" for people to be celebrating (LOTS of work still to do).  I think other than some fine tuning, your JEDI ending is near perfect - an actual bit of melancholy in the ending too, which I really like, considering that one of the things that I remember about STAR WARS and EMPIRE was feeling a bit sad that the movie was over.  I never felt that way about JEDI, nor any of the other PT films.
