True enough, but one of the big problems I had with the endings was that there was no explanation of why Frodo was leaving on the boat, whereas in the book, it is made abundantly clear that, much like Bilbo, Frodo feels that he has outgrown the Shire and that it is time to move on. Jackson better put some of that in the EE or I'll be very disappointed.

I posted an article from Time magazine a while back talking about scenes from ROTK that didn't make the theatrical release and whether or not they were filmed for inclusion in the DVD EE. Dunno what thread I posted the article in, though.

well im with gundark on this one!

as someone who has never read the books i was totally confused at that point and that is one reason i didnt like the ending...
a simple explantion would have been fine i think...

these movies have been too perfect so far
pj was bound to finally make one mistake. its good that it wasnt a major one just a small tidbit.

I WOULDN'T CALL THEM MISTAKES WHEN THEY WERE DONE ON PURPOSE. WHENEVER SOMEONE IS MAKING A MOVIE FROM A BOOK THINGS GET CHANGED FOR THE AUDIENCE THAT ISN'T FAMILIAR WITH THE PROPERTY. ONLY THE "HARD CORE" FANS NOTICE SUCH CHANGES. THERE WERE MANY OTHER "MISTAKES" IN THE LOTR TRILOGY.
