Why is "General Star Wars Discussion" so dead?

That forum used to be hopping.  I used to spend all of my time there and then I migrated to haunting Off Topic most of the time.

What happened?  Did we all get burned out?  Are we in some kind of seventh year sabbatical?

Worth to notice the site names itself "OT.com" and not "PT.com"...

Yep. The main problem I can see in every kinds of forums is that opinions most of the time melt with arguments.

Sure that more interesting would be to observe the add of a Jar Jar in SW for instance instead of spending energy through reacting. The PT do not bother me as long as nobody force me to watch them btw... (What is not an opinion, but an evidence). 

I think it just kind of goes in waves. The Off Topic section was pretty dead for quite a while, up until Frink, xhonzi, and VFP came and gave us the breath of fresh air we needed.

That, and I think people are starting to get burned out. :P

I've been here since 06, but I use to post very, very infrequently, and mostly in the SW section. Then in my recent travels here I noticed the two of them engaging in web silliness, which I enjoy far more than a grown man should, and haven't shut up since.

I used to enjoy hashing out SW issues which seems funny to me now; I'd get fairly worked up over some pretty idiotic stuff. In Frink's LOL section, I posted a link to a big slap fight I got into over...Go-Mer-Tonic.

Seems worthwhile, right? :/

Another reason for the General SW section being dead might be a lack of new members. Because what seems to happen (this happened to me, and I assume I wasn't the only one) is that when a new member joins, and they aren't here for fan-edits, they only really post in the General section. As time goes on, they get bored of talking about Star Wars and end up in the Off Topic section instead.

It's true.  Both that I deserve the credit, and that I'm still pretty sure that someone funny hacked VFP's account and went to town with it.  I keep a 2 inch thick dossier on each of you on my desk and VFP's new personallity didn't meld with his old one very well.  And with the change of avatar, I knew he had to be someone's sock!

Wait... what?  Wasn't that my line?

Conclusion: SW discussion is so dead because we cannot search for posts by user name. Thread conquered.

Have you guys seen TMBTM's War of the Stars?  He actually did this, except he used the faces of Beru and Owen (and no Watto).  Funny as hell.
