Yeah, they're working on the movie now. Originally they were gonna wait until the series was over, but they've decided to go ahead and start preliminary talks now. Who knows, maybe the series will never leave the airwaves (anything is possible with the Simpsons, right?)

And yes, while I do love the Simpsons, I'm not some Jimbo-sized fan. The show is most definitely not perfect. Nothing is really, not even the original OT (blasphemy

), but just like the OT, for me the show still hits way more than it misses so I still look forward to it whenever its on. But yeah, if it ever got to the point where I didn't think a whole season was worth owning on DVD, I'd probably feel the same way as you do. I just hope that either that never happens or that it's further down the line.
