I still can't see a practical use for such items (at least for myself).
If I want to read a book, I buy a book (doesn't need batteries, cheap and easy to replace if damaged or stolen, doesn't get remote wiped by an outlet that is actively pirating author's work etc, etc).
If I want to keep a scrapbook an exercise book, a glue stick or some tape and a pair scissors can be purchased for next to nothing.
If I want to use the web portably a netbook can be picked up for a fraction of the price of these electronic fashion statements.
What would you use one of these things for to justify the price (and risk if you factor MS and Amazon etc into the equation)?
