I just want an anamorphic DVD set of the original movies restored from the best surviving elements.

They can also do blu ray for those who want that.

The oot.  Don't even care if its barebones. As long as it has the theatrical audio, don't want a new audio mix.

Won't buy episodes 1-3 ever again.  Even if Episode 1 ever gets a restoration, or he releases the theatrical versions.  The same with the 2004 will never buy that again.

I am kind of for nostalgia's sake though wanting the less butchered though still tampered with 1997 trilogy versions. The way i saw them in the theaters. That quality.  My laserdisc copies don't even compare.

The newer slimpack set of the trilogy included neither theatrical version. Both were home video releases.  The 1993 definitive collection Laserdisc mastered to DVD, and the 2004 a video edited release.  Neither ever in film resolution. Neither have the real sound mixes or look the way they should.

I can't believe that after 20 million dollars spent on a restoration in 1996-97 and a massive worldwide search for all the original film elements did not turn up a suitable copy of the oot for blu ray, its nothing short of a lie that they don't exist.  Lucas won't spend the money and the 97 restoration was funded by fox.
