As far as the whole absence of the term "Sith" in the OT, i made a slight mockup earlier, which even i think is bad but id like to share it with you all :)

This is like the fourth time I've seen you mention this in the past few days. Are you a sock?

With all this talk of a US filming unit it has me very excited!!
Will we see Rebel Troopers and Snow Troopers fighting it out in the snow fields of Hoth?!?! It is something I suggested a long time ago (with others).
I do know that Lucasfilm originally had Snow Troopers in these scenes. A book (I lost years ago) called the Empire Strikes Back Notebook had storyboards as well as the script. In the story boards it had a couple of scenes of Snow Troopers running underneath the AT AT walkers.
Here is the book.
This is all very exciting and I wonder what Ady has truly planned.

I was able to track down a copy, there are some AWESOME storyboards in here. Here's just a couple:

On the contrary, I was merely extolling the virtues of this amazing and revolutionary product by Mr. Kaminski (who has not paid me large sums of money to say this).
And if you order in the next ten minutes, I'll throw in one of these attractive sleeping bags (a great value) at no additional cost!
;)
I was looking for pics of Snowtroopers between At-At's in the battle of Hoth on Google , but came across this one...
+1 for solving the feet problem ;-)
There doesn't need to be any Stormtroopers on the ground around the AT-ATs. They're riding safely in the AT-AT.

Now I think about it, I don't think the word 'Sith' was ever used in the OT. Nor was padawan, Padme or pod race.
The phrase "Dark Lord of the Sith" appears in my 1978 copy of the original "Star Wars" novelisation. It's on page seven, in fact. :-)
Hey thanks for pointing that out!

Hi there,
Don't really want to trawl through 651 pages, so sorry if it's already been mentioned, but will it be possible to show and/or hear the snowspeeder(s?) being destroyed by the probe droid, as originally written? This will then make Han's 'It isn't friendly' line make sense and explain why Rieekan sends two other speeders to cover the area.

No problem! It just rang a bell when I heard the phrase mentioned, as I remember the book really well. I read it before I saw the film.
The novelization was actually released in 1976, before the film! Not 1978.
Kurgan, you're blowing your cover on my pay-off scheme! :p

Yeah, though there were numerous re-releases of the novel. The only thing that ever changed from one edition (other than the cover) is the preface/introduction and the title.
Believe it or not, it was originally titled:
"Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker"
Then somewhere around 1995 it became just "Star Wars." This is how it was in the various anthologies (of all three novels in one).
Then briefly in 1997 it was "Star Wars: A New Hope: Special Edition" (though I may be thinking of the "Special Edition" that was all three novels with a gold "Special Edition Trilogy" image on the cover).
Then it was pretty much "Star Wars: A New Hope" until, iirc, 2004 when it became "Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope" and even has the same Vader image that is on the 2004 DVD box (gold, iirc from the full frame version).
I believe I only have the 1977 version (78?) with the gold cover (and different painting) and "now a major motion picture" on it.
Rumor has it that the very first printing of the book spelled it "lightsabre" instead of the now familiar "lightsaber," but I can't confirm that.
As for the money...
If you give it to me, I might forget I found you. ;)

I believe my Uncle still has the original pressings of the novelizations. He even has a very yellowed "Splinter of the mind's eye"
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Inserting anything like that wouldn't work with the way the scene is edited. You need to hear the probe droids message otherwise 3P0's line about "...It could be an Imperial code" wouldn't make sense. There just isn't the space to add anything i'm afraid.
Anyway, here's a little teaser of something i'm working on right now :)

Nice clip Ady, love how the cloud car creates shadow on lens, adds realism.

You will never be able to buy this on DVD as that is illegal. This project will be available to download for free once it is finished. No money will ever be made from this edit
Does that new approach use the approach from the DVD menu as a base?

No. The idea was taken from the menus but nothing was used from them.
