The cut shown on the German T.V. has the newly found and restored Argentina footage, but fans should take note of a few things before delving into any new projects with this film.

Firstly the best ( or only) source at this time for the new scenes is that German broadcast. It was broadcast live on ARTE TV channel on Friday, 12th February 2010.

Note: The broadcast was at the same time covering a live event of the films screening at the Friedrichstadtpalast concert hall, Berlin. The film was also shown simultaneously at the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin, and the the Old Opera House in Frankfurt.

I've read that the films credits on the T.V. broadcast have an announcers voice on them, and all title cards are in German.

At the live screening, sources told fans that there is a plan for an official DVD/blu-ray release of the (almost) full-length movie in EUROPE in November 2010. This release will include the original score, which is to be newly recorded in June this year.

It's still nice to actually be able to watch this in the meantime.

The only U.S. screening I'm aware of is at the forthcoming TCM festival in Hollywood, which is way too expensive for most movie lovers to attend. Not to mention they don't even guarantee you get a seat at the screenings!

I got a full PAL resolution (702x528) copy and the music ends right at the end of the film, so the announcer doesn't actually talk over any of the music, only over silent end titles.  I also managed to get some English subtitles and only had to tweak them 15 and a half seconds to get them right on.  I'm watching it now while not as sharp as the DVD, it still looks pretty good.  The "new" footage isn't going to be improved much in an official release, as it is pretty scarred up.  Still, it might get me back to work, since I was beaten on the original project.
