Mehh... I wouldn't say I hate the taste of coffee... It's good, I guess. But I don't drink it usually. In my family, one that consumes gallons and gallons and gallons of coffee* 24hs a day (yes, even before going to sleep), I'm the only one that doesn't. I love CHOCOLATE!!
Coffee smells good, tastes good, but give me chocolate any day!
*[oh, and, I don't want to sound like an ass (or a racist one at that, cause I just hate italy anyway), but let me just clarify here, we're not talking wimpy american coffee, the kind you drink in those big ass mugs, wich we call here "dirty hot water" (what's the deal with all the peppermint and spices and shit?), this is the real deal, if there's one thing those greasers know how to do is coffee and pizza, but for the latter one you have to look real good] IMHO and with a big wink because I don't care about this shit anyway

Coop for Coffee!
I'm actually a chocolate person myself. I've never had a cup of coffee... and the smell of it will probably keep it far from my mouth forever.

Is this on-topic?
The topic is coffee and the quote comes from a television show largely devoted to coffee drinking during a scene where fish tainted coffee is consumed but I haven't illustrated my explanation with an on topic picture so I guess it's :

I've no idea what you're going on about "peppermints and spices and shit", I have never seen anyone in America put any of those three ingredients in their coffee before. I guess at places like Starbucks and other coffee shops you can find a wide variety of flavored coffee, but places like that are really more for caffeine junkies than real coffee aficionados, many of the people who drink that kind of stuff are more or less trying to hide the flavor of their coffee.
I use to feel the same way you do about American coffee (my favorite coffee is still the Turkish stuff, but I tend to drink it out of a "big ass" 'merikin coffee mug, and without sugar), but in recent years I have learned to appreciate the American stuff, given the right brand and the right strength of coffee, it can be quite enjoyable. I still, however, have a hard time understanding the appeal of putting cream and sugar in coffee, I just don't get it.

Well said.
C3PX, I'm not a coffee drinker, but I have enjoyed the very occasional cup or two using cream and sugar. To me it doesn't mask the flavor - it enhances the flavor. Same reason I use mustard on my burgers, steak sauce on my steak (sometimes), and various toppings on my pizza. Not to say that straight coffee isn't good or great for others, but for me I like what I eat to have lots of different flavors going on.

of course C3PX, I was talking about Starbucks; I was trying to think of the name of the shop when I was posting that, but couldn't remember it and wrote it that way.. I know it sounds like I'm saying that absolutely everyone drinks at Starbucks, but we all know it ain't so, don't we?
Starbucks... I hope it doesn't catch on around these parts, like Mc Donalds did. Ughh Mc Donalds... speaking of ultra sweet coffee and sweet stuff, in one of the few occasions that I went into a Mc Donalds, I got one of those sundaes, well the thing had the power to make your teeth fall out at 10 feet of distance! yuck!
Coffee Bean is the west-coast Starbucks. Everyone likes to go there more to pretend that they're better people for it, but really it's the same

The worst part is the way it has invaded the rest of the word! For a while there, it seemed impossible to get away from McDonald's no matter what country you went to. I've been stuck in the states for a couple of years now, so I haven't seen it for myself, but I heard McDonald's and other American brands are dwindling in number throughout Europe and other parts of the world. I sure hope so. I love my country, but I don't want feel like it is following me around no matter where I go; and annoyingly, that kind of defines the United States, no matter how far you travel it is always just a few yard away.
As for cream and sugar in coffee likened to steak sauce or mustard on a sandwich, I'd liken it more to someone dipping fine chocolates in ketchup. That is fine if that is what someone likes, but to me it still seems tragic to allow that wonderful taste of chocolate to be overwhelmed and cheapened by something like ketchup. I like to eat my steaks without sauce for the same reason, and I feel a sandwich is like a salad or soup, it is intended to be a mixture of many flavors. Of course, everyone has their own tastes.
EDIT:
Whoa! Didn't realize the topic changed! Uh, hooray for boobies? Has that topic been approved by Fink yet? Somehow I have a feeling it won't be... so... uh...
