Okay, I had to start this thread for one simple reason, I found an awesome new Muppet figure that is being released through Palisades Toys ToyClub. The figure is US$15, but the membership costs US$50 for a lifetime jobber. That means I won’t be buying it, of course. If anyone else is already a Palisades ToyClub member and is willing to buy one that I can reimburse for, PM me. Please.

The new figure is Adventure Kermit and is modelled after a character near and dear to our hearts.

Now how about a bunch of us all pitch in a little bit for the membership and order four of these bad boys? Granted the total cost still comes out to nearly $30 (our share of the membership + the figure cost), but it may be worth it.

Following the comic theme, my prize collection (even though I don't have them all) is a set of all the main characters from Jeff Smith's Bone including the glow-in-the-dark Hooded One!

He's 14 inches tall. That makes him pretty damn Mega. They also released a Mega Animal and a Mega Gonzo. Those are the only three in the Mega series.

I also wanted the Glow in the Dark Bone fig but couldn't find him for a reasonable price.

I'm looking forward to the Hellboy figures. I've seen a review of them and they look pretty bad ass.

Well, if you ever think of going back to Bone, (one of the best epic fantasy/humour books ever for those who don't know what I'm taking about) Jeff Smith's Trilogy of Trilogies is about to be complete. The last issue comes out in the next month or two. I can't wait.

So, would "Trilogy of Trilogies" imply that it is just the best trilogy of any trilogy ever published in comic format and that it is 3 issues that I would have to buy; or does the title imply that this is literally a trilogy of trilogies meaning 9 total issues?

Hmm, actually I mean both.

In the realm of comic literature and specifically the fantasy genre, this really is the best trilogy of all trilogies. If you're a fan of deft characterization with high drama, sprawling epic plotlines, but also small intimate stories and relationships with a hefty dose of smart humour and slapstick amidst the dramatic LOTR-style battles, then I just can't recommend it enough.

I've been waiting over a decade for the story to end and while I'm waiting with anticipation, I also wish it would never end. The three sets of three trade paperbacks is almost complete with the 9th volume collecting the final issues should be out in the next two months. I can't believe it's going to be over soon.
