I think some of the fire is coming from the ships to the surface but in your mockup it seems to be coming mostly the other way (traditionally that would be green lasers for the bad guys).

Well yeah.. DS has big enough firepower to cause serious damage even when its damaged..(see rebel strike) I said i was bored to put more space traffic. so the defending lasers could hit the other(missing in my mockup) capitals or bombers

And since the capitals are so close, they risk their hulls.
