Add some “signature” pilots who can die in the main battle and we’ll feel like we’ve seen them before (perhaps including female pilots or an aliens).

It would be great to have a few more people we can root for and feel sad about if they don't make it.

I think Ming should be our signature pilot in RotJ. :-D

Matte him into the briefing, show him shooting TIE's, have him blow up. Heck, make him the one who rams the Executor!
