But that is subjective, some people (like myself) are more distracted by those inconsistencies so it's not a minor problem for me personally and possibly a large number of people.

The direction of the shot should be sorted without resorting to flipping.

Either film new elements or turn as much of the existing element so the inconsistency isn't so obvious.

At the end of the day a flipshot is very, very rarely an artistic statement e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doppelgänger_(1969_film)

It's a money saving exercise from an age when expensive film stock processing was the only way to construct a shot beyond just pointing a camera at something actually happening.
