I have a grand compromise:

Start off Episode One with them having different colours to show their individuality. then have them become more stuffy and dogmatic in Ep 2 and 3 and then have all blue to show their loss of individuality.

Luke's green in ROTJ would then show a "return" to the glory days of the jedi order.
