I hadn't even thought of that but come to think of it if Jar-Jar spoke seriously there could be a bit of perverse mileage in that.

If we had a way of making Jar Jar turn to the dark side (not just the dark side of comedy i.e. slapstick) it would explain why Ben and Yoda are so wary of training Luke because he's "too old" :P
