It looks great, thanks. I'm glad that the 4:3 problem is not on my side, but really it took about 10 seconds to fix it so no problem :)
Nice work

I'm bad with torrents. Has this movie been put up in any newsgroups yet?

It's now 6 days later and I'm now up to 99.88% – 6 days to get less than 10%?! Seed the link, please - in the last 2 hours, I've given 2 people more than 15%! I'm trying to be generous so that what they get can come back to me (seeing that the files spread around). Be generous. I'm now to the point that loading for almost 2 weeks straight is probably going to cause me problems with my internet provider.
just put mine back on line, hope it helps....
sorry for my english...
Thanks. Oddly enough, I'm not drawing from the one 100% file my system is seeing, but a couple of people have drawn 30% from me (and hopefully others) in the last 3 hours. I'm almost there...

I'll post it soon.
One day I found... 10 years had got behind me. Next day was worse.
Download shows from Cable DVR (Updated! Yes, it needs a rewrite, but it's worth slogging through, anyway).
I finally have it. Thanks, fanfiltration, for all of your hard work. Phenomenal job. Much appreciated.
Any word on usenet or rapidshare-style releases?
Dr. M
It's finally going up on the newsgroups (Usenet) - alt.binaries.dvd and alt.binaries.multimedia.startrek (the nzb is crossposted to a.b.nzb).
Sorry for the delay. Planned obscelesence keeps rearing its ugly head. Makes life complicated...
If the upload gets interrupted, don't worry, it'll be back up within a few hours. (I'm bracing for a couple of failures that could chose to happen during the posting).

Found the NZB, thanks. Shows what I know about newsgroups, I didn't know you could have an NZB before actually posting the pieces.
Btw, IIRC wasn't there going to be 2 other cuts to go with this or have they been shelved?

Yes, I did plan on doing 3 edits. The official blu-ray kind of made one of them pointless, but I am still planing my own personal fan-edit of the material. Just need a bit of a breather first.

You've been working on this for at least 2 years, I think we can let you have a breather.

Wow! where have I been, lol Incredible....
Remember, Highlander, you’ve both still got your full measure of life. Use it well, and your future will be glorious.

Download a file called "ifoedit096" from http://www.ifoedit.com/
The link doesn't appear to be working. I have the version that was uploaded to newsgroups, but that appears to be 4:3 too. Does it have to be ifoedit096?
edited - All right, it seems to play as 16:9 after all. When you play the VOBs in VLC they appear as 4:3, but the disc itself plays as 16:9.
It looks good! I'll try to post some feedback when I have finished watching.
Can I get an invite demoid pleasae I would love to see your edit man!

There is going to be an original cast film fest in L.A. this summer. TMP is being shown in 70mm!
Where were you in '77?
I'd really love to convert this DVD into PAL ... is there any way you could upload the MPEG file you had created before making it a DVD? I guess that would make things much easier ...

Why? Converting it would lower the quality, so you wouldn't gain anything by having higher PAL resolution, and NTSC will play on European equipment without problems.
Furthermore, uploading the original mpg is unnecessary. You can obtain that by using pgcdemux to pull out a single mpg, which wouldn't be any different from the original.
Thank you so much doing these works Fanfiltration.
This, and The Godfather 1901-1980, were the only two titles I had left in my collection that I was still keeping my Laserdisc Player around for.
