I can't remember if i mentioned it before or not. It started out when someone on facebook contacted me about the Hoth X-Wing pilots uniform and progressed from there really. They have access to a professional 1080i HD camera and have set up a whole second unit for filming purposes. You'll get to see all that goes on in the "making of.." doc that will be on the special features disc for ESB:R.

OH yeh, did i mention that ESB:R will be a 2 disc DVD edition? I thought this would be a better option because i would be doing an AVCHD version, so anyone who just wanted the AVCHD disc would also be able to have all the special features on a separate disc instead of having to download the DL-DVD version just for the extras. So disc 2 will be a DVD-5.

No, they haven't used any CG on this shot. they used the miniature version of the Falcon model which is a lot less accurately detailed, and it was physically attached to the Frigate model during filming. The close up shots used the larger scale model with just a section of the frigate
