well It doesn't matter if the clip is exported as anamorphic or not, as long as it shows up right it should be fine. It's the sequence that has to be anamorphic in sequence settings (actually even that doesn't really matter because you can make it anamorphic in dvdsp when you are making the DVD)

I may have discovered your problem: make sure the new clip has the same flag as the DVCPRO clip. I.E. if that was anamorphic make this anamorphic, if it wasn't it shouldn't be.
