I'm hoping to get WG's BD-50's if possible.  I haven't started on the Prequels yet as I'd like to get this ROTJ working first.  If anyone can suggest a way to fix this I'd appreciate it.

How many files are you missing?  How many parts does QuickPar tell you are missing?  How many parts do you have in the par files (I count 89 if you have all the files, they are labeled at the end with a +9 or +8 indicating how many parts they can replace)?  Can you give an output telling how many parts are missing from each file?

Hey Adywan.. yes, all of the pars were in the same folder as the rar files.  Wasn't successful with that.  Then when I was given the links to the new par files, I temporarily moved the original pars, and put the new ones into the same directory and ran those.  Same result.  I'm at a loss.  I've downloaded these files twice now.  That's a lot of gigs to download multiple times.  Not sure what else to do.

Hi there,

I had the same problems like yours, i have downloaded the whole thing about 3 times! I don't know how i did it, but it had something to do with a new set op pars..... and a lot of processing time to get them repaired.

I cannot promise anything but i hope to find out what i did some months ago!

Did you try the following?

use : www.binsearch.info

type : Star.Wars.Return.Of.The.Jedi.PROPER.REISSUE

look for :

New Pars for ROTJ Proper Reissue [02/10] - "Star.Wars.Return.Of.The.Jedi.PROPER.REISSUE.Bluray.Format.1080P.vol00 0+001.PAR2" yEnc (1/60)
collection size: 4.04 GB, parts available: 16867 / 16868
- 9 par2 files

and :

New Pars for ROTJ Proper Reissue [01/10] - "Star.Wars.Return.Of.The.Jedi.PROPER.REISSUE.Bluray.Format.1080P.par2" yEnc (1/1)

The above par set is different then the one included in the original posting, so what i remember is that i put it all in one directory and let quickpar do it's work (this took some hours but i worked out!)

I hope i have helped you out, if so please mention it here so that if someone else gas the same problem it's fixed for them also!

Hi all.

I`m new to the newsreader aspect of this all, and... I am somewhat confused to some of the Wookiegroomer editions that have audio issues, missing files, ect. I downloaded Empire and 10 of the files were bad. It was such a let down for me. So where can I pick up working nzb files of known good files of the 6 with there proper names so i know what to look for? Im sorry if these are silly questions. I have seen screenshots of Wookiegroomers work and fell in love with the clarity of it all. I`m glad people like him and Ady do what they do. Amazing stuff. Thanks for any help.

Cheers.  The files are bad because some of the posts to usenet were corrupted, which happens all the time.  That's why there are par2 files posted for the releases.  These files are special parity files that allow reconstruction of the broken parts of the files to a certain extent.  QuickPAR allows you to do this on Windows, and the par2 command in linux.

Thanks 8T88 (and all who have posted back to me).  I'm trying this option now.  Hope it works.  However, I noticed that of the files it's currently downloading, one of them is already showing that 'broken page' icon.  Hope it will go through ok.  Will post an update once I've finished.

Rick

UPDATE:  Ran the new pars, still says I need 126 blocks.  When you look through the list within Quickpar it shows the green 'page' icons for each piece, but the same ones that I mentioned before show as yellow.  Then if I try to open the RAR file it still gives the errors that parts 001, 004, 005, and 007 are incomplete.

I signed up with a newsgroup provider for a month specifically to pull these movies down.  I'd really like to be able to resolve it soon.  Any other suggestions?

On another note, I'm messing around with Star.Wars.Episode.I.The.Phantom.Menace.Bluray.Edition.1080p from WG (yes, I extracted it correctly), and it seems like it only has a runtime of 1:21:00 or so, which cuts it off in the middle of the movie.  Does anyone else have this problem?  I'm specifically referring to BDMV/STREAM/00003.m2ts, which shows like this:

-r-xr-xr-x 1 4294967295 4294967295 39998386176 2009-10-18 21:04 00003.m2ts

Is that the filesize everyone else has?  I do get this issue:

md5sum: asdad/BDMV/STREAM/00003.m2ts: Input/output error

So I think I might be doing something wrong.  Here's how I mounted the ISO:
sudo mount -o loop Phantom.iso asdad/
Mount says this:
/dev/loop0 on /nexus/tardis/hellanzb/done/phantom/asdad type udf (rw)

The files are definitely corrupted at this point beyond repair, even with the newer/larger PAR2 sets.  I've downloaded everything on 2 different news servers just to make sure, and both times I had results exactly like yours.

I know they're huge files, but it would be great if someone could reupload them (the 3 original trilogy movies).

Thanks!

Can anyone tell me if the ANH Blu Ray was re-released with the problem at 7:41 fixed?  Either way is it possible to release a "patch" to correct the issue or will have to re-download the whole thing?

Also if it is not too much trouble can anyone verify the correct names for Episodes I-VI final releases to search for?  There are so many different sets I want to make sure I get the correct Wookie Groomer releases, are these correct / most recent / working:

Star.Wars.Episode.I.The.Phantom.Menace.Bluray.Edition.1080p

Star.Wars.Episode.II.Attack.Of.The.Clones.BD50.Bluray.Edition.1080p

Wookie.Groomer.Star.Wars.Episode.III.Revenge.Of.The.Sith.BD50.Bluray

Star.Wars.A.New.Hope.PROPER.REISSUE.Bluray.Format.1080p (was this ever re-released with th 7:41 fix)

The.Empire.Strikes.Back.PROPER.REISSUE.Bluray.Format.1080P

Star.Wars.Return.Of.The.Jedi.PROPER.REISSUE.Bluray.Format.1080P

They take so long to download I want to verify.

And MUCH thanks to Wookie Groomer, these are awesome.

If someone could re-upload these, that would be awesome.  My newsgroup access will be going away soon. Kinda sucks that I paid for it just to pick up these movies and now I can't get them.  Is there anyone out there that could assist us?

Thanks!  Rick

I think I answered my own question, seems the fixed version is:

SorryForPostingABadProperNewHopeHereIsAFreshTestedEdition

I just wanted to say that ALL files are still there and ALL files work just fine, and to upload all these again would take a very long time.

Which NZB are you using, DJ?  I tried several times and couldn't download it and a number of people seem to be having the same problem.  It is the version with the audio fix that you are talking about, isn't it?

Is there something wrong with the "BD50" versions, of all films, that I'm downloading right now?

Yes Episode IV: A New Hope is missing a couple of minutes of video at the 7:41 mark, depending on what you watch it on it could crash or just skip the missed portion. I think the other ones are all correct if you see my previous post listing the names of the sets.

Do a search for

"SorryForPostingABadProperNewHopeHereIsAFreshTestedEdition" and you should find the right set (3rd release of ANH) about 144 days old right now.

Here is c/p from nfo file of new release:

**FOR THIS 3RD AND FINAL EDITION**
OOPS, I burned my archival copy of A New Hope onto BD50 and then deleted the files. When I decided to post the corrected A New Hope I pulled it from my BD50 which unknowingly was corrupted and sadly I did not find out till long after the upload was complete and my newest set of victims started complaining. So, to rectify the situation I downloaded my very own first edition of this bluray that had a known audio sync issue (that was otherwise perfect) along with the corrected AC3 audio file I posted several days later. I demuxed the entire bluray project with EAC3to and re-authored a brand new bluray using my existing menu files and the posted audio fix AC3 file in place of the original audio file. Sadly, the DTS mix for the film is lost forever since I did not post that to the groups and the only version I had was the one in the feature on my corrupted BD50 disk. Since the sync was off on the original edition I could not pull from that, oh well... One good thing about that is you have 1.5GB less to download this time around. So what we have here is basically an identical proper reissue minus the DTS film soundtrack and no missing section. I swear, I will survive this project... damn it.

Thanks, downloading the fixed versions now. Sucks about the DTS track though, no chance of recovering that, I guess :(.

All of the ones I have listed (all six movies) are still out there and available, you may have to dig for par's and / or redownload corrupt parts but I believe they can all still be pieced together.

Can someone with the Phantom Menace BD50 verify their copy plays past 1:24:00? I get this in mplayer:

Update - I'll just get the hV copy :D  I was going to encode it with x264 anyway to fit it on a DVD9.

I've downloaded both the extra pars and the proper re-release several times and am still 104 blocks short.  It seems as though it's completely borked.

I had the same problems getting it complete, but with some extra downloads and a lot of effort i got it complete. Did you use another usenet provider also for the missing parts? Try www.hitnews.eu they offer free downloads for 3 days so then maybe you can make your download complete.

I got the entire thing from Astraweb, so I doubt that's the problem.  Good idea though!

I've managed to get all my rar's to pass the checks in QuickPar after a lot of re-downloading of files. Anyway, do you have a rapidshare, netload or megaupload account?

I'm happy to upload a few files for you if this will help you although it may take a little while due to my poor upload speed!

Let me know.

Thanks Andy! The problem isn't that I'm missing any files as much as the fact that I have incomplete files. I can grab rars from any of the accounts, but I'd need quite a few to fix it (I imagine).

Parts: 001, 004, 005, 007, 011, 012, 014, 015, 017, 018, 020, 021, 024, 027, 030, 033, 055, , 059, 061, 062, 064, 067, 070, 073, 076, 079, 082, 098, 136, 139, 142, 156, 195, 198, 201, , 207, 210, 214, 219, 261, 269, 352, 366, and 370 are all incomplete :( Thanks for all of your help!
