Would it be nice to have both editions on video? Not really. It would be nice to have an edition where all the SFX cliches have been fixed and the bad changes have been exercized. In short, I want to see Han shoot first and I want all the violence restored. But why on Earth would anyone want to see bad SFX in any movie?
Sure, it was great when I was 6, but I'm not 6 anymore, and if I can see good SFX vs. bad SFX, I'll take good anyday.
You guys want the "force field" under the landspeeder, transparent snowspeeders, blocking looking effects shots during the Death Star battle? Why? I don't get it. I simply don't understand why anyone would want to see crappy SFX in Star Wars when you can see better SFX.
Because that is what it comes down to. The story hasn't been changed at all, so other than Han shooting first what is your bitch specifically?
So tell me somthing should they use CGI to redo the classic parting of the red sea in the Ten Commandments? Should they use CGI to redo the Ape in the classic King Kong? They would make the SFX in those movies better too would'nt it? And the SFX in the Classic OT were not crappy!
and why wouldn't it be nice to have both editions on DVD? it would give people the choice and that is the whole point! You can buy the ruined edition while I buy the classic OT.
Why would it bother you that I'd be able to buy the classic OT? Now that's Lame! And the longer you continue, more LAME you become.
