719p, 720p, whatever it takes.

Ha ha... Mr. Mom reference?

Actually the correct version would have been "720p, 721p", but the joke still works.

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!! I would've had a funny star warsy Christmas picture, but I don't feel like it.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

You can borrow mine.

I know it's not Star Wars, but it's Christmas and funny - two out of three.

I just got through with the big Christmas dinner, and I need a belly rub.

If gluttony is a sin, why do Christians pig out on Jesus's birthday?

Merry Christmas and Happy Life Day!!!!!!

Yeah, it was a Mr. Mom reference, and I used 719p because Ripplin said it first.

I just remembered I need to download that latest clip. :p I'm downloading a couple of AvP's "Science of Star Wars" preservations and you can only download one thing at a time with RS. Heh. I should just pause it and check out this new 719/720 niceness.

Merry Christmas everyone. Now that Christmas is over, it's time for my birthday, which happens to be on December 26th!

BTW Ady. Would did you consider adding other language subtitles? Lot's of people I know don't know English well enough to enjoy your edit. I could make Polish subtitles for you. We could find some people to make Spanish, German and French no problem I think.

And Greek!!!

Ady said that he is not bothering with the subs until the final stages of the edit.

Well the movie needs to be finished in order to get the timing right. Just wanted to know if it's an option. The more languages we get the better for Adys edit.

I actually helped Ady with french subs for ANH:R but for some reason they didn't make it to the DVD. He knows how to contact me if he wants me to do the same for with ESB:R

I don't know exactly, it's somehow embedded in the video track but compared to the rest it can't be that big.

it more depends on how much subtitles u put in there. if its just one language, it may reach as high as somewhere with in a MB range.

if u have multiple languages, it wouldn't reach a GB range, unless u include every language in the world and some made up languages, but it would definitly be in the higher MB range.

Hmm so I would find it very great pity if it would not make the German language in ESB. Subtitles do not really care, but several said to have choice, is already extremely good, it just appeals to more people.

It is also for people that are not so good, editing movies, audio tracks, etc. is not easy to difficult to incorporate into their home-language movies sometimes for their children. I have done this with Ep.IV, and it has not been easy, but my 2 sons 7-9 years old, are totally enthusiastic about it. Because they can no english or very very bad.

Sorry for my bad English

*best regards*

I too think multiple languages should be put into ESB:R.  I personally have no use for them as I speak English but I know a few people that would benefit from it.  even five or so subtitle tracks take up negligable space on a DVD or BD-9 and wouldn't compromise quality in any significant way and greatly expands the audience that can enjoy it.

Hey look, a bear!

70K on District 9 Ultimatum (mind you thats a dedicated srt file without menu links and stuff). If you want them, translate em and post them to the man i guess.

Im working on the Welsh language and the Backstroke of the west subs straight away ;-P

.srts are plaintext. Subtitles on a DVD are stored as four-colour (presumably at least RLE compressed) bitmaps. Rough guess, 2k a frame, let's say average 10 frames a minute, 120 minutes... ~2mb per language.

Look you now, Obi-wan, I'm the master now, see? There's lovely.
