Hello everyone

First, a note to the site owners:

My intent of this thread is to get more exposure to the guys who do all the hard work on these fan edits. If i am breaking a forum rule or something by posting about this other web site please just remove this thread as i mean no disrespect.

ok- so, have you all heard of www.icefilms.info ?

Its a very user friendly way to see tv and movies. Its just a portal that serves up the links. One click = viewing.

It would be great if some of the editors would start submitting their work there.

As a layman, I’ve been trying to view the Phantom Edit since it came out and only saw my first fan edit last week! But that’s because i’m a dumbass when it comes to technology. Anyway, its a way to get your visions out to people like me who are not tech wizards who very much would like to see what you have done.

The more this thing spreads virally the more likely in the future the industry will have to adapt to keep its audiance. what you’re all doing today I foresee eventually Distributors will have to embrace.

You know how some video game companies release their game and a modding toolset? And then provide an online depot so others who have bought the product can enjoy fan created content? I believe one day if this fan edit artform keeps growing (and yes it definatly can be classified as art) that companies will begin to offer a similar model.

Its already begun. Back when Battlestar Galactica was on they had an online contest where they provided clips and asked editors to creat some great trailers.

Fan made trailers are much more available to the average person and many of those people have gone on to industry jobs. I want to see you guys reap the same rewards. Some of you work years on a project and show a lot more love and attention to a franchise then those that get millions to work on it.

I hope one day many of you get to reap the rewards you deserve.

Especially when they have started giving us movies like the Star Wars prequels, Xmen Origins: Wolverine, Terminator: Salvation, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and G.I. Joe.

Post your work on www.icefilms.info (and other sites like her) so more can see what you’ve done.

Again, to the site owners… Its wonderful you have provided a showcase for the editors work- but I find it next to impossible to actually find and view their work and I’m more tech savvy then a lot of ‘average’ people. People that appreciate good film are often artistic in nature and many art people are technophobes LOL

Thanks again
