A good intelligent woman conquers an airhead girl.

Topic guys please!

whoops! uh, yea, let's get back on topic :P
What shall we talk about? The economy? Dogs? Bees? Dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark, they shoot bees at you?
Now how can we improve Leia's steel bikini scenes?
Now see? It still pertains to the prior subject (what does "rack" mean?) while going back on topic of a JEDI wishlist...

BTW, check this out:
Also BTW, Mother and Jay, you need to keep the forum bit where linked images have a white box around them.. that way people can tell if the image is linked or not (the white box link thing isn't there any more - the pic above is linked)

right.
In fact id like to play with the horizons there. the ships should be vertical and not horizontaly. Assuming and only that is a test pic and the battle can be more visible and intence.
Considering where the tower could be i could place it the the south section of the Eye so the battle is visible from down to up. Twisted dark side Twisted perspectives.
Also in the second pic fixed the light in the window. to match with the later shot.

Fantastic work!!! Way to liven up the dead set. It actually feels more menacing.

I'm thinking you're thinking it will create a lot of laziness because now that half the image isn't cut off, people see the whole thing...but won't bother with the right-click-->view image thing to see all the detail? Yes/no?
The problem is that a lot of people couldn't right click and see the image, the view option isn't there for everyone, for reasons I'm not sure.
Just post linkable thumbnails... it works for me!

fancy
The mockup still seems a bit odd (more like they are on a ship near the Death Star than on a tower on it's surface.

I love the idea of the ship near the death star! I really do. Maybe the most radical idea i ever heard here. If only could find some way to excuse the elevator....
Reminds me the antonov in the die an other day. an observational ship that controls a super laser.
and maybe it can floats around when the shields are up and dock into the DS when the shields are down.... hmmm
Really breathtaking idea bingo even from mistake!

One of the original ideas was that the Emperor arrived in his mobile Palace (ripped straight off of Dune) and that docked onto a landing pylon tower thing.
So the elevator could be a link to the Pylon and it could uncouple once Luke in the throne room and the whole complex could float around like a blimp.
I don't like the idea myself.
I was just saying that the mockup didn't quite look right but if anyone could illustrate the concept well it would be you Angel.
If you want to give it a go I'm sure we'd all like to look at what you come up with.
It would mean that instead of a shuttle landing the bottom of the pylon would have to end in a large parade space/hanger (to stand in for what is currently the Docking bay).
Instead of coming off a shuttle he would be descending down a huge elevator.
It could work.
It would explain how Luke gets so quickly to a shuttle to escape.
The Emperor arriving in a giant space traveling building rather than a conventional ship and shuttle would give him a degree of extra clout.
Oh boy.
With great power comes great responsibility...
I d love to make a few mockups for this idea. At least it can explain why the lighting changes so fast up there.
Considering kubric style moments when a slim pylon comes up slowly when we see only siluetes of death star and the floating deck and back a sun or moon of endor, really adds the sci fi and a wow element that ROTJ misses.
Nice spark you gave me here Bingo, danke.

Its amazing to me on a forums dedicated to Star Wars without things added how many of you want to add things to Star Wars.
That said, I want Vader on the Death star along with his kid and mentor, not floating around a construction site.

Most of the people on here will agree that ROTJ is the weakest film of the trilogy. Any changes would be embraced more than brushed off.

imagine then the shot when vader throws palps could be glass that observes the surface. Brakes and palps fly to oblivion. Then shield doors close to protect the protagonists. So the scene that shows energy from palpatine can be replaced with particles and elements sucked from space.
It can work!

As someone who signed the petition and followed the campaign for the unaltered OT on DVD from pretty much the beginning I don't see a problem with making suggestions to changes to the SE.
The SE already made changes which didn't make sense.
In a way putting ideas from earlier draughts of the original scripts is a way of making the SE a more worthy enterprise.
There would be the unaltered theatrical versions and special versions which re-introduce concepts that didn't make the original versions.
I did say I didn't like the idea of the throne room floating above the Death Star but I'm interested in the idea of the Emperor arriving in a space faring palace which docks with the Death Star as it was an idea suggested for Jedi which never made it to the screen.
The important thing is making sure it makes sense and actually adds something rather than just looking good.
The Emperor isn't just any other character and it could (if it was made to work) be a visual underpinning of just how important and different the Emperor is.

Now, yes, but I have to wonder how many would've said that when they were little. ROTJ was never my favorite (Empire was always it for me), but there were parts in it I thought were awesome as a youngster. I still love the general feel of the Deah Star interior scenes. Anyway, I do know some people who always liked ROTJ best growing up, but as their tastes matured, found that either ESB or ANH were best.
