The vocals in the LD 5.1 mix are not isolated completely to the center channel, they still have very substantial volume in the left and right channels, not just a mere echo. Is that how they did surround mixing back then, cause any movie I watch in surround sound today, there is either no vocals in the left and right, or at 'certain' moments in a movie, there are if they are extremely loud, or there is a huge echo.
I'm just curious about that. IDK honestly what sounds better, don't have the best surround sound system to test.
On another note, about ROTJ. This seems like the movie that has had the worst alterations done to it in the SE. The replacement Max Reebo scene looks like Pixar animation; if Lucas added this to remove the 'fakeness of puppets'.. he only made it look less believable with poorly animated creature movements (they are exaggerated for cartoon style, not realistic animation movements for film), and poorly rendered effects like the saliva in the creatures mouth... looks like the water from the animated movie Antz.
And the lips on the singer. Another example of this unrealistic animation usually associated with cartoony pixar.. So over done, did the lips need to stretch 10 miles into the camera so far that its a friggin macro shot. I half expected it to zoom in to the cellular level or for the other obnoxious creature.. for the camera to pan down his throat all the way into his stomach. Ugh, this is just sad.
The music sounds awful. If I had to choose from a jazz/funk music made in 1983 by one of the best film composers ever, and some ugly 90s style R&B... I'm going with the the first.
We have to replace this scene. I don't care if the rest of the movie is 1080, and this scene is only 320 pixels in height. I'd rather it abruptly switch to lower resolution or standard definition.. than watch that new abomination in HD. The scene has to go.
I can tolerate the stupid beak in the pit of carkoon, even though I think that was a pointless addition..
The other big issue is pretty simple to fix. The ending. Just remove the new 'scenes'.. The rest of the scenes are the same as the original, they just are re-ordered slightly.
Just readd the original mix from the LD, and remove Hayden's ghost. I feel sorry for the original Anakin Skywalker.. his role just getting tossed aside at the end to make room for this horrible actor.
EDIT: By the way, I am not the most amazing with animation yet when it comes to CGI, but I could probably handle space ship scenes no problem.
I have good experience with using 3D Studio Max.
Do you know what thread you're in? Obviously not.
