Exactly, DE.  Light and color reflects off just about everything and imparts its characteristics on the surroundings.  Of course, this is all dependent on ambient light, direct illumination, type and color of illumination, and the subject's proximity to the object reflecting the subject.  This is easy to see if you are wearing something brightly colored (red, neon, etc.).  Put your arm close to a "non-reflective" surface like a wall or table and the closer you get, the more color is reflected back.

Now, as far as Ady's edits go, there is a mono-chromatic element to some of the DS interior shots, but it is still a vast improvement on the nasty blues of the DVD release.  And unless characters are running around in neon shirts, or the Emperor laid down some red carpeting or some mood lighting, there wouldn't be a huge impact on the surroundings anyway.  Of course there would be some color mixed in, but considering the source material and the time involved to impart more "color" just to the surroundings, I'm fairly happy as is....
