Or maybe Scotland like Ian McDiarmid...

Ian may have been born and raised in Scotland, but he has no hint of a Scottish accent.

I've just posted this idea on my own thread, but thought I'd post it here too as more people read this.

Well I've just had an idea about a possible way to fix the whole Jango/Boba issue in the film. As it stands, he's clearly affiliated with both sides, both being the host for the clone army and being on geonosis with Dooku (which not only makes the jedi look ridiculously stupid for still using the army, but also poses its own problems in an edit where Dooku is a good Jedi)

So here's my idea - after escaping Obi Wan on Kamino, we use one of the existing P.O.V Slave 1 cockpit shots, and have a hologram of a hooded, obscured faced Palpatine/Sidious come up. We then have him say (either through sampling existing dialogue, or voice modulation, or a combination of the two) something like "very good, now lead them to the seperatists. We will have our war." (or something cleverer than that - I haven't really thought about the line much).

The point is, Jango/Boba now has a reason to lead Obi Wan to Geonosis. We then never see him again after that (he is not in the arena) and Dooku's line of "there are no bounty hunters here that I am aware of" becomes truth.

That's not a bad idea. I wonder if there's some footage from the asteroid chase for Jango's reaction to the hologram. He wouldn't have to say anything. It would all be Siddy. And there just might be a way to put together some dialogue that is spread throughout the prequels where Sidious says: "Geonosis. War. Lead." etc. Or maybe just dubbing in someone else's voice would be more appropriate?

But good idea overall.

what about doing what jason did in his own prequel edit where sidious face is hidden in the hologram and having his voice distorted

That would work if others thought it worth hiding who Sidious is. I'm for that. Keep Siddy's identity a secret until the third film.

Well in my edit, we don't see Jango without his helmet, so I'd need a helmeted shot of him if at all. I really like the idea of inserting the Jason Wingreen "As you Wish" line from ESB after Palpatine gives him the order.

Sidious' face will be blanked out and the voice will be warped (like someone did in a phantom menace edit) so either a cut and paste of Palpatine's dialogue, or someone doing an impersonation will both work fine, I think.

Hey, I've been following this thread for a while now, and figured I'd post this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnrHvnCTH6k

This is a heavy re-edit of the Episode III opening battle.  Notable changes are:

-No Buzz Droids

-New Music

-Color correction

I know the youtube upload created some odd interlacing, but I would like to know what you think of the pacing and the color changes.

Very nice. Good use of cues from the Battle of Yavin, and the editing plays the battle for its plot rather than its spectacle. It's a minor shame to lose the opening oner, but that shot was only ever showing off; there was no particular cinematographic reason to use it.

What I really like in this one was that i didnt expecting to see anakin and obi so quickly. You know we see all the sequence before we go to characters. Very nice touch!

The music could be bit more worked, but i didnt bothered.

Nice alternations to the diaolugues.

I really loved the way that the action is still hot even when they crash landed in the hangar, rather a moment of silence in the original.

Very very good edit, cant wait for more.

Btw where was the color correction.

I really liked this edit but I do like how the official release starts, you could always hold onto the single shot buy having the disembodied voices come distorted over the com system,

I've been thinking of the Yoda Dooku duel in II, what if the dialog from the Dooku/obi wan was used in some way

"this is madness, join me & together we can destroy the sith!!"

Hey I haven't seen you hear in a long time! welcome back! :D

I actually have two of your older videos (of this same scene) stored on my desktop that I watched not too long ago...crazy huh?

I think this is your best edit of this scene yet!

That was excellent. You've trimmed goofy droid sounds and excessive action yet kept the same storytelling line. This was quick but I think ultimately left me wanting more(which is good).

And you got rid of those godawful Kenobi and R2 digi-doubles leaping out of their ships in the hangar.

And to imagine that the space battle in the rough cut was even longer, much longer than the released film.

Interesting re-edit, TheTome, did you do that? I too like the original opening, but I think this is a very creative reworking of the scene, making it more of a battle rather than just Obi-Wan and Anakin flying through it. I like it better this way, since we never see adult Anakin in a space battle, even though he is supposed to be a great star pilot.

THE EDIT WAS VERY WELL DONE.  I REALLY LIKED THE DELAYED REACTION AT THE BEGINNING.  ALSO, THE YAVIN MUSIC WAS A VERY GOOD IDEA.  OVERALL GREAT WORK AND I HOPE TO SEE SOME MORE OF THESE.                                                                       ALSO, ABOUT THE PALPS NEW HOLOGRAM SCENE YOU GUYS WANT TO DO, COULDN'T YOU FIND LINES OF HIM FROM OTHER MOVIES?

Odd that I can't figure out how to get the Caps Lock on my iPod, but GHOST can't turn his off.  TRY PUSHING THE "UP ARROW" SHIFT KEY!

Not sure why I yelled that...

It only does this when I reply.  Honestly, I have to play with it for a minute to even get it to let me type in the reply box.  When I type in the reply title box or anywhere else, it doesn't do this.  After every letter I type in the reply box, it turns it's self back on.

If you want to turn on Cap Locks, go to Settings-General-Keyboard-then it should be on that page somewhere.

That's a very good recut of the Episode III opening, TheTome - I'd be interested to see what you can do with the whole film.

Wow, thanks for the feedback guys!  For those interested, do not worry, this is part of a much larger project that is actually nearing completion!  I will be uploading a couple more clips in the coming days to try and show just how much I'm planning to change the movies.

I do agree, it is a shame to lose the longshot as it was very impressive, however everytime I kept it, it seemed to really slow down the pacing, so it is going to stay as is.

As for the music, I'm quite happy with the battle of yavin cue, so I don't plan to change it, but if anyone has any suggestions for the earlier music I'd love to hear them :)

And finally, the color correction, as Vaderios noticed, there wasn't any.  In my haste to get something uploaded I accidentally rendered the clip with color correction off and didn't notice till after I posted the link!  I will try and get some of the color correction up so you can see it, but for now, patience :P

Ok, color correction!  Here's a short clip from the beginning of the space fight that shows what I'm trying to achieve color wise.  Basically, I'm trying to remove the Red Hue that covered the entire movie, and make the colors more stark like in Ep I and the OT.

EP1 had a magenta (red/pink) hue throughout its film as well, which I've been working at removing for the next release of my Attack of the Federation fanedit:
