I almost took the troop to see the Toy Story Double Feature in 3D. Until I saw the ticket total came to $60, and that's without snacks or parking or anything. And I doubted my kids' ability to sit still and enjoy 3 hours of movies they've seen 100s of times. It's too bad... I was really looking forward to it. I guess they'll just have to figure out how to get 3D to me at home better. I'm willing to spend a $k or so to get high quality 3D at home (as long as there are plenty of movies to watch). As long as I don't have to drop $100 per movie to take the fam to the cinema.
Sony keeps saying 2010 is the year they bring 3D home. My concern is that there will be a 3D format war between Panasonic/Dolby and now Sony hinting that they will have their own format to throw in the ring.
Sony never saw a an oportunity for a format war they didn't like.
