Scanning lasers can be hired (it costs some money but doesn't everything?) there may be a local nightclub that has one which could be filmed (it also looks like the sort of thing a clever programmer might be able to write an adobe plug-in for).

It looks like the sort of thing an animator might be able to emulate (SSWR did something like that in his droid factory mockup for AOTC)

I like the new window and the view but I also like the dark control room (even though it was more a necessity of the projections they were using it was very spooky).
