I'm also for taking the extended podrace scenes on the TPM DVD and cutting some of them into the film cut and then shortening the podrace to two laps by taking some existing scenes out. If I remember correctly, that bit where Anakin is spinning was a deleted scene as far as the Theatrical goes, but on the DVD George added it into the film. Having said that, I hate that bit. That magnetic tool is lame.

The girl who is standing around during the podrace and Lucas swore up and down was going to play a major role in Episode 2? I'd rather have her deleted, and while corny, Tuskens shooting at the race for giggles makes more sense than an obvious assassin take pot shots at pod racers.

Yeah because obviously no one like Sebulba or anyone else who wanted him to win would have her try and take Anakin out of the race right?

But yeah, reducing the threatening Tuskens in ANH to slapstick counterparts in the PT sounds great!
