An update.... My hard drive has been shipped back by the data recovery group. It was the firmware problem. They apparently saved everything.

I got my drive back.  After $600...EVERYTHING was saved.

Thank god.

And I'd like to send out a nice little "F U" to Seagate for making all of this possible...and not cleaning up the mess afterwards.

Step two - copy everything over to another brand drive.  Hell, two other drives.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Hi, DFN.

Just grabbed this via fanedit.info links and had a little bit of trouble with my first burn.  Maybe because I selected the "seamless" option when choosing a layer break and my player didn't like that.  But before i try again, i was wondering if you have a specific layer break point that i should enter manually in ImgBurn.

Thanks.

There was a layer break set when I created the file.  It should be set when you burn it.  Never had a problem otherwise.

Okay.  Maybe that is why ImgBurn only gave me one option. (is it when Elliott is breathing on the window of "dead" E.T.'s containment unit?)

I'll deselect ImgBurn's "seamless" option since maybe my player doesn't like that.  Frankly it generally does well with layer changes so i shouldn't need to resort to any software trickery.

Thanks for putting this one together many moons ago.  Any potential material for an Archive #2?

I know it's been forever but I got a bunch of requests for me to put up the Evita: Criterion Collection set.  That just started torrenting.

Do you need me to finish those Indy menu screen backgrounds?

Hmm...do you mind if i say "maybe?"  I haven't even thought about Indy as of yet.  I want to re-do ALL of the discs I've done because I have more footage from all of the movies, I think. Plus I re-did my laserdisc captures as well so they'd all be dual-layer.

It'll happen eventually.  Thanks for responding.

That's what I wanted to know.  Didn't know how far along you were after the HD failure or what order your projects were in.

Let me know when you're ready.

My troubles were apparently due to an incomplete download on my end, which i didn't detect because i saw the ISO image and figured all was well.  I re-downloaded and everything was fine.

Much appreciation for using ImgBurn's MDS file which specifies the layer break automatically!  I wish more people upped ISO + MDS, especially with a DL release.  Even just using ISO images for downloads, we'd eliminate the incidences of missing notes, artwork or other ROM folder content.

Oh, and, if you ever get around to re-doing your Batman disc, you gotta add the crown jewel of '89 material

Just wondering-did anyone ever do the 97SE LD bonus footage?

I did.  I think I sent it to Babyhum for his set.  Can't remember if he ever "released" it.  He's disappeared.

I know it's been a while but I'm back on track working on a bunch of things.  I just burned my very first Blu-Ray compilation of the Jaws Biography special...along with a Today Show Retrospective. :)  Very proud of that.

I'm also going to go through a lot of my older stuff and see what to do.  Have to figure out where to seed a lot of it as well.  Hoping to get it out for all of you!! :)

I'm debating.  The problem is that you'd have to have a Blu-ray burner to play it.

No chance of offering the Jaws Biography special on a regular DVD or DVD-DL?  I don't think many of us would have the means to either burn or view the BD version.  :(

On a related note, did you happen to record the Biography Channel's similar recent special on Caddyshack?  I'd love to get that preserved on disc since it was a wonderful comprehensive doc on the making of the film and better than anything we'd get on a future Caddyshack special edition DVD/BD.
