I immediately went to Old Skool and never looked back. I hate change.
Yeah, I know. A bit less thought-provoking than my last thread, but I was screwing around in the preferences and remembered that there is more than one color scheme. As soon as the new forum software launched, I immediately set the color scheme to OT Old Skool, which I have always kept. But I wonder what you, the little people, use. Particularly, I'm curious what "Old Skool" and "New Skool" people use. Did all of the "Old Skool"ers immediately go to the Old Skool color palette? And do all of the newer users use the default colors? I wonder how many people see these forums in an entirely different color scheme than I do!

Old School. It has been my favorite since '04.
I use Standard Blue.
If I were to have a second account, I'd probably use OT Old Skool to help keep them straight in my mind.
I said if.
Old Skool.
I honestly don't even remember what the Standard Blue style looks like anymore. I know that I tried it for a time and didn't like it.

What's this? We haven't discovered the man behind Ric Olie, have we?

I don't know what you're talking about.

Psssst....go read the Ric Olie Observation Thread, post 49. And if you're caught, I will disavow any knowledge of your actions.
ChainsawAsh must be Ric Olie! He's accusing the innocent (and frankly, incapable) Frink of being Ric to throw us off the scent!

Incapable? Ouch. Wait a minute...maybe that insult was meant to throw us off the scent. xhonzi must be Ric!
This conversation is all the funnier considering we just read The Crucible by Arthur Miller in class.

OT Old Skool is the default for new members. The blue theme (or some variation thereof) will be the theme I release the software with Real Soon Now™. I'm working on another theme called OT Classic that will incorporate colors from the Old Skool theme, but with a brighter palette overall. Not everyone likes dark backgrounds with white text. (I find it a tad fatiguing after long reading sessions myself.)

I personally find white text on a dark background to be the easiest on the eyes. My eyes get sore when staring at a word document, but at a place like this (with OT Old Skool on), it's never a problem.
Wow, I've always kept the old OT colors. I forgot there were other color schemes. :P
I just tried the blue theme, and I think I turned into a mogwai there for second before I turned it back.

I guess trying to defend myself by pointing out that my first post toward "Ric" was something along the lines of "Oh great, we have novelty accounts here, now?" would just make me more of a suspect, so I'll bow out of this discussion right about now.
Oh, and Frink - I haven't checked the "Observation Thread" since my last post in it (probably August?), so I didn't know that this was common knowledge at this point. Now I feel like a bit of an idiot. I guess I can say that I figured it out on my own, though ... kinda ...
I use the old skool one.
War does not make one great.
I use whatever scheme you are currently looking at.
And when I see Jay in the same thread as me, I get kinda nervous...

Same for me. I very much prefer the dark background.

I hope OT Classic will be an option in addition to OT Old Skool. Like Nanner and Anchorhead, the dark background and white text has always been comfortable to me. Conversely, I momentarily tried out the Blue last night (which is what prompted me to make this thread), and it hurt my eyes after only a few minutes. Obviously, to each his own. I'm just very partial to and comfortable with this color scheme.
