Modern Lucas would have added an establishing shot from Coruscant of Palpatine's side of the conversation during the hologram scene. I'm actually surprised they didn't for the DVD.

I'm surprised Lucas didn't have Palpatine deliver the message in person just so he could add another ship landing sequence (I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Palpatine landing at the Senate to disband it in person in ANH: SE SE too).
